Perfect location. On a quiet narrow street but literally 1 min walk away from the main centre square. We had the family quad room which was big and spacious.
The best thing about this Hotel is it's location. It's 1 min walk from The Old Town Square, Charles Bridge is about 10 mins(slow) walk and during our stay we didn't spend money for transportation. The main railway station is 10 mins drive and the receptionist was kind enough to call a taxi for us. The breakfast was good, the rooms are modern and comfortable. We stayed in an appartment(2 rooms, large bathroom and a balcony) and it was really amazing! I can't find any bad words for this Hotel.
Excellent location just next to the major attractions. A nice terrace on the roof with a view on the city towers. Clean rooms, nice breakfast, helpfull staff.
When they say "rooms for non-smokers" it means there are no smoking rooms at all. No air-conditioning in the mansarde rooms. And if you plan to sleep at nights be prepared for the beer-tour singing from the streets - it is a price for being located in the centre of the city.
The hotel is very centrally located just off the Old town square. Room was very clean and comfortable, nice breakfast selection and most of staff were helpful. I would reccomend Hotel Dar and stay there again.
We liked that Hotel Dar was very central and there were many shops and restaurants close by. Breakfast was very good.
There were no dark curtains or blinds to keep the light out. The air conditioner could not be controlled in the room.
location, except the noise was bad at night and since no air conditioning it was either accept the screaming drunks in the street or faint from heat
Originally I want to stay at a hotel directly on the Old Town Square. After seeing how many people gather there, to include many groups of young people who seem to enjoy the Czech beer all night long I’m glad I stayed at Hotel Dar. It’s literally less than a minute walk to the square but on a pretty quite small cobblestoned side street which gets little of the heavy traffic by other tourists. Another plus is the restaurant which is co-located with the hotel. Guests of the hotel get a 20% discount, the food is excellent and the beer is cold. Our room was small by American standards for hotel rooms, but hey you’re in Prague, we didn’t come there to waste time in the room. We spent most of the time exploring the city. I would highly recommend Hotel Dar, it’s super clean, ideally located and has a very helpful staff.
The only negative issue I can say about the hotel is there is no a/c which is clearly outlined on their website. We were there the first week of June, it order to sleep in comfort we had to leave the windows open which did allow a couple of rowdy tourists and smokers to bother our sleep at least one night.
The location is literally one minute from Old Town Square. In fact, you can faintly hear the trumpeter on the clock tower every hour on the hour from your room. Wenceslas Square is a five-minute walk and the Charles Bridge is fifteen minutes away (ten minutes without the hordes of tourists). A side benefit is that you get a 10% discount from the restaurant next door (u Spritu) where the Czech food is wonderful. The rooms are Spartan but clean and the lift is brand new. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and there is lots of storage space, an in- room safe and a minibar where the prices are lower than on the street. The breakfast fare plentiful and varied, even if it is not sumptuous. Great value for the money.
This is not a bad thing; rather a warning. From the airport, if you take the Kcs 120 minibus that has its terminus at the Hilton/Marriott hotels (comfortable, fast, and a good deal), it's a pleasant 10-minute walk to the hotel. But if you are dragging a heavy suitcase over the cobblestones it could be 20 minutes of hell. We had small carry-on cases and the wheels just fit into the smooth bricks that allow for drainage on the cobbled pedestrian walkways. Even so, it was fairly tough going for 10 minutes as we moved through the crowds of tourists. A metered taxi can get you to within a couple of (cobblestoned) blocks of the hotel, but taxis have a reputation for taking the "long route" from the airport.
Location , breakfast
bathroom tub is leaging, the room price is a little bit expensive
Location -- right behind Prague's Old Town Square, in a quiet spot. And the staff were very friendly and helpful.
the location of the hotel is 100foot from old times square, perfect for all tourist attractions and shopping. The hotel staff is very helpfull and gave me perfect directions to unusual places outside the city centre. The breakfast is nice, different flavours of yoghurt and toppings and cold/warm buffet with different types of bread to choose from.
it would have been nice if there was a tea/coffee making facility in the room.
Great location, centrally located at the Old Town Square and easy walking distance to all other sites
Dark, narrow street to get there could make some women travelers walking alone at night a bit nervous
The location is priceless! Just steps from Old Town Square and midway between two Christmas Markets. It was perfect.
We didn't like that the breakfast room was locked at exactly 0930. We were 2 minutes late one morning and couldn't even get a cup of coffee.
It was very close to all the main attractions in Prague and was on a quiet side street away from all the tourists. It was very clean and everything looked new. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, and very helpful. It was a great value for the price.
